Melvin Lee Ball

Melvin Lee Ball, age 57 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Joplin, Missouri on July 17, 1966 the son of Melvin Hill and Betty (Ball) Foster. Melvin was a member of the Murphy Ridge Church of God. He enjoyed gardening, mowing, his dogs, fishing, and camping.

His parents; brother, Jeff Hill; and sister, Donna Featherston precede him in death.

Survivors include his son Melvin L. Ball, Jr (Dalton) of Strunk, Kentucky; daughter, Chelise Clift (Garrett) of Whitley City, Kentucky; companion, Carolyn Barker; brothers, Efrem Hill (Joanne) of Burnside, Kentucky, Robert Foster of Rogersville, Missouri, David Foster of Joplin, Missouri, and Eddie Hill (Cindy) of New Castle, Indiana; sisters, Keri Cessa (Abel) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tammy Thompson (Matt) of Washington, Oklahoma, Sharlene Sweeney of Burnside, Kentucky; grandchildren, Steven Ridner, Lettie Ridner, Gemma Ridner, Garrett Clift, and Willow Devore; special friend, Glenn King; cousins, Stanley Hill and Ronnie Hill; and mother of his children, Nettie Ball (Paul Carver).  

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 11am Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
