Michael Burke

Michael Burke, age 58 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Baptist Health Lexington.

He was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on September 22, 1960 the son of Garland and Clara (Jones) Burke. Mike was a heavy equipment operator for the McCreary County Road Department, member of the Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church where he had served as the Church Clerk, Song Leader, and Adult Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed fishing, camping, UK Basketball, watching the Andy Griffith Show and nature shows, but his greatest love was his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Tammy Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Lynn (Garland) Burke; children, Jessica A. Burke (Jason), Jennifer Fister (Brian), Debra Stevens, Harley Burke, Cameron Burke, and Davon Burke; brothers, Garland Burke, Jr. and Timmy Joe Burke (Jeanine); sister, Ginger Wallen; and grandchildren, Raigan Privett, Taylor Privett, Cole Fister, and Carlee Fister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2pm in the Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Coffey and Bro. Garredd Corder officiating. Burial to follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Church.
