Nannie Duncan Ross, age 89, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky, on July 21, 1931, to the late George Bryant and Rosa Etta Srunk Bryant. She is also preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Austin Duncan.
On January 19, 1999, she married Rubin Ross and they made their home on Bear Creek Road in Strunk, Kentucky. She has a son, Tommy (Laura) Duncan of Muncie, Indiana. She was so proud of her grandchildren whom she adored and adopted and raised as her own children: Brandon (Tina) Duncan of Strunk, and Amy Ross of Lexington, Kentucky, and she has one grandson, Robert Duncan. Her great grandchildren are: Coty Starrett (Stacy), Brandy Day (Anthony), Ian Duncan (Brandi), Kameron Wheat, Khory Wheat (Kaitlin), River Duncan (Amber), Connor Gray, and Chance Duncan.
Great great-grandchildren are: Riley Stephens, Donovan Day, Colton Starrett, Dylan Day, Adyson Starrett, Aiden Duncan, Aria Starrett, Brooklyn Duncan, Miles Duncan, Cambria Starrett, Ivy Duncan, Lillian Wheat, and Jackson Duncan.
She only has one living sister who was special to her, Georgia Moore.
Nannie was a homemaker who cherished her family and enjoyed get-togethers and entertaining. She enjoyed shopping, sewing, traveling, auctions and collecting quilts. She was gifted with the ability of fix anything electrical.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Angel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services at the funeral home.
