Novella Watson Jones

Novella Watson Jones, age 77 years old, of Whitley City, Kentucky, a born-again Christian went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 28, 2026 at the Signature Health McCreary in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

Novella was born and raised in McCreary County, Kentucky and later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she lived until she moved back home to take care of her aging parents until her death. She later married Kenneth Larry Jones.

She was a faithful member of the White Oak Junction United Baptist Church until her stroke. She was a light and BLESSING to her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jones; parents, Andy and Bonnie (Clark) Watson; sisters, Ethel Watson and Louise Jewett; and brothers, Larry Jack Watson and Robert Duke Watson.

She is survived by her siblings, Clora Fotis (Ray), Jerry Watson Brown, Dovie Christopher, Betty Libertore (James, Wanda Haynes (Billy), Barbara Rose (David), Andy Watson, Jr. (Dorinda), and Stanley Watson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Funeral Home.
