Raymond Curtis Flynn, age 74 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on February 1, 1951 the son of the late Raymond “Honk” and Clara (Jones) Flynn.
Ray had worked as a truck driver in mail delivery for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. Prior to his mail service, he had run Ray’s Service Station on Main Street for 10+ years. Ray enjoyed racing of all sorts and had even driven his own dirt track racecar in the open wheel class. In past, he had been a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge. Ray also enjoyed shopping, tinkering with vehicles, his coffee and cigarettes, but above all, he loved being a grandpa. Although he leaves behind sorrow hearts, we find comfort in knowing his has peace being united with his grandson, Stephen.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Stephen Tyler Eldridge; a brother, Jerry Flynn; and a sister, Kay Sewell.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Flynn (Derrick Lay); brother, Johnny Flynn (Mindy); granddaughter, Kristen Owens (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Peyson and Emery Owens; life companion, Phyllis Stephens and her children, Brian & Victoria Coffey and Dessie Stephens & Jeremiah Hughes; her grandchildren, Tristian Tucker, Patience Tucker, Mackenzie Perry, Daniel Perry, Colt, Chloe, and Cayd Hughes; and her great grandchildren, Amelia and Jaymison Perry.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with obituary by Charlie Choates and Bro. Johnny Wayne Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery alongside his grandson. The family will receive friends after 5:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
