Rhoda Whitehead

Rhoda Whitehead, age 57 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on August 2, 1968 the daughter of the late Leamon Elmer and Adell (Jones) Whitehead. Rhoda had worked as a substitute teacher and was a member of the First Baptist Church Whitey City. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and visiting and being with family.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her fiancé, Dennis Bright of Oneida, Tennessee; brothers, Bobby Whitehead of Revelo, Kentucky, Jimmy Whitehead (Laura) and Ronnie Whitehead both of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Ruby Walters and Linda Thompson both of Whitley City, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, July 10, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Timothy Corder officiating. Burial will follow in the Corder Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Friday at the Funeral Home.
