Roger C. Slaven

Roger C. Slaven, age 78 years, of Eubank, Kentucky died Friday, July 7, 2023 at his home.

He was born in the Worley Hilltop. Kentucky community on April 15, 1945 the son of Alfred and Ella (Spradlin) Slaven. Roger had been a farmer and loved, listening to Sunday Morning Gospel Music, watching Westerns, and telling Tall Tales.

His parents; wife, Kathleen Price; brothers, Obie Slaven and Burl Slaven; sisters, Janice Wilson, Lora Mae Davis, Darlis Chaney, and Vercie “Bootsy” Jones; step-daughter, Rhonda Sandidge; and 1 great grandchild, Kylee Clark precede him in death.

Survivors include sons, Roger Price of Somerset, Kentucky and Donnie Daugherty of Williamsburg, Kentucky; step-daughters, Janice Willis (Buddy) of Pineville, Kentucky and Lois Mounce (Howard) of Somerset, Kentucky; special friends, Eddie and Jennifer Tucker of Somerset, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jamie Price, Austin Price, Tiffany Stephens, Dalton Daugherty, Devon Daugherty, and Tyson Daugherty; and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Jessie McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis-Waters Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
