Ronald Joe Myers

Ronald “Joe” Myers , age 71 years, departed from this life September 16, 2018 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.  He was born August 20, 1947.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Wanda (Wood) Myers; sons, Joseph Henry Myers, Ronald Allen Sellers, Thomas Colwell all of Pine Knot and Kenny Cooper of Strunk, KY., daughters, Shelby Jean Smallwood and husband, Eddie of Indianapolis, Jessica Louise Myers and husband, Wesley Hix, Mellissa Jo Myers and husband, Michael Shaw all of Indianapolis, IN., brothers, Jerry Lee Myers, of Whitley City, Lewis Myers of Pine Knot, KY. Larry Myers of Alabama, and Danny Myers of Texas, sisters, Louise Baird of TN., and Ruth Carter of Pine Knot, KY., 13 grand-children and numerous great grand-children.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Martha Hayes Myers; brother, Elbert Myers; and sisters, Rosa Colwell, Sue Dick, and Melvina Sellers; and granddaughter. Brittney Smallwood.

Joe was in the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion Post 115 in Stearns, KY.  He was a sawmill worker at the Pine Knot Lumber Mill.  Joe never met a stranger, he loved to dance, and spend time with his family, especially his grand-children. He loved to host family reunions, and ride his Rhino.

Services are Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Myers and Bro. Jamie Brewster officiating. Burial to follow in the Hayes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
