Roy Lake, Jr.

Roy Lake, Jr. age 83 years, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, died Thursday, July 31, 2026 at the Saint Joseph London Hospital.

He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 4, 1942 the son of the late Roy and Connie (O'Neal) Lake. Roy had been a Butcher and owned and operated the Whitley City Restaurant Supply, and was a member of First Baptist Whitley City. He was an avid dancer and had won many competitions.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Alpha Penny (Bryant) Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Lou (Ballenger of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; children, Mark Lake (Tharan) of Dallas, Texas, Lori Lake of Plano, Texas, and Debbie Newell Montanez (Larry) of Saint Augustine, Florida; step-children, Amiee Barrickman and Joseph Coop; and step-grandchildren, Taylor Ray Barrickman, Tabitha J. Lee and Lacy Jay Smith; and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday, August 3, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Monday at the Funeral Home.
