Shanda Jean Watson

Shanda Jean Watson, age 63 years, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky died Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on October 6, 1962 the daughter of the late Delmer “Pete” and Clarice (Barnett) Watson. Shanda was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed camping and tending her chickens and other farm animals.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Ray Lynch; brother, Gary Lee Watson; and sisters, Sandra K. Ridner, Teresa Ann Goodwin, Beverly Watson, Linda K. Watson, and Alma Watson.

Survivors include her sisters, Joyce Hickman and Janet Clark both of Monticello, Kentucky; uncle, Gorman “Bundt” Watson; and special friend, Jimmy Jones.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Scottie Corder officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
