Sue Carol Hatfield

Sue Carol Hatfield, age 85 years, of Monticello, Kentucky died Sunday, April 19, 2026 at her home.

She was born in Revelo, Kentucky on August 11, 1940 the daughter of the late Grant Roberts and Arlie Murphy. Sue had been a Personnel Director for GC Murphy and had cooked at the Wayne County Schools and was a member of the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid reader of Christian and Amish Novels, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jason “J.T.” Hatfield; and brother, Donald Duncan.

Survivors include her daughter, Beth Abney and husband, Wendell of Blanchester, Ohio; grandchildren, Kyle Abney and Kevin Abney; and great grandchildren, Leianna Abney and Nadia Abney.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday April 24, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial will follow in the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
