OBITUARY INFORMATION
Sylvia I. Smith Cox, 86, of Hilliard, Florida was born in McCreary County, KY on April 8, 1928. She went to be with her husband on April 16, 2014.
She was the last of 18 children on her side of the family. Her dad, Pastor Melton Smith and wife, Winnie Ethel are buried at Sandhill where Sylvia and her siblings grew up. Charlie Cox, her loving husband of 58 years is also laid to rest there and waiting for her arrival (this she told all the family).
Sylvia leaves behind her sons; James Dwight (Katherine) Cox and Thomas Dilman (sherry) Cox, 5 grandchildren; Dawn Marie, Susie, Charlie (JoAnna), Andrea (Robbie)and Hollie (Brent), 8 great-grandchildren (and 1 on the way); Ashlie, Nicole, Chris, Ashlynn, Victoria, William, Christina and Cadence, 1 great-grandchild on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
She was well loved by all, including her sisters children that she helped raise; Eugene, Lowell Dean, Charlotte, Melton and Milford. All of the cousins and the rest of the family. Thank you LORD for letting her into our lives. We all have learned something from her. Rest now and be with the love of your life.
