Vercie "Bootsy" Jones

Vercie S. Jones “Bootsy”, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, at her home in Stearns, Kentucky.   She was 68 years old.

Born at the Worley Hilltop Community in Stearns, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ella (Spradlin) Slaven.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: Obie Slaven and Burl Slaven and three sisters: Janice Wilson, Lora Mae Davis and Darlis Chaney.

Surviving family include her husband Delbert Jones, a son, Jerry Jones and wife Shanda of Stearns, three daughters: Debbie Coffey and husband Frank of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Barbara Kay Wilson and her late partner John Vaughn of Stearns, Vicky Crabtree and husband Todd of Monticello, Kentucky, seven grandchildren: Jessica and Gerald Gregory, Ashley Cooper, Kimberly Vaughn, Adam and Angela Coffey and Lakeisha Jones and two great grandchildren: Urijah Kade Coffey and Alyssa Cooper.

Versie had worked as a machine operator and was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church.

She enjoyed quilting and her flowers.  She loved and adored her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 27, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. David Troxell and Bro. Tommy Tapley officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Bud Gregory Cemetery at Stearns.  Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services.
