Virginia Sue Canada

Virginia Sue Canada, age 84 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Friday September 11, 2026 at her home.

She was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 5, 1942 the daughter of the late Mose Walter and Lillie (Hines) Tucker. Sue had worked in factories as a machine operator, enjoyed Country Music, Cooking, watching comedy movies, eating popcorn and other snacks, but especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Canada; brothers, Reed Tucker, Glenn Tucker, Junior Tucker, and Ralph Tucker; and sisters, Mary Keith Baird and Leatrice “Toots” Clark.

Survivors include her children, Paula Gross of Strunk, Kentucky, Norman Canada (Leiah) of Strunk, Kentucky, and Hope Canada of Dayton, Kentucky; brother, Jim Tucker of Batavia, Ohio; grandchildren, Jerry Gross, Ryan Canada, Amber Gross, Sam Gross, Quentin Canada, Christopher Mills, Tanner Myers, and Maverick Etherington; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Nate Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the McCreary County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after 11am Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
