Virginia Mae Taylor

Virginia Mae (Morgan) Taylor, age 94 years, of Sawyer, Kentucky died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Signature Health Care of McCreary in Pine Knot, Kentucky.

She was born in Sawyer, Kentucky on October 24, 1924 the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Griffith) Morgan. Virginia was the Post Mistress at the Sawyer Post Office, and member of the Mill Creek Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was working in her church and cooking to feed anyone that came by to visit.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow Wilson Taylor, son, Phillip Taylor, brother, William Morgan; and sisters, Georgia Otzmann, Wilma Hamblen, Nadean Little, and Irene Morgan.

Survivors include her sons, Darrell Taylor of Sawyer and Owen Taylor and wife, Connie of Shepherdsville; daughters, Sue Singleton and husband, Doug of Pine Knot, Virginia Cecil of Winfield, and Karen Brooks of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 1pm in the Mill Creek Methodist Church with Bro. Ronnie Decker officiating. Burial to follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Thursday at the Church.
