Wendell Ray "Pete" Crabtree

Wendell Ray “Pete” Crabtree, age 81 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Monday, November 6. 2023 at the Williamsburg Nursing Home in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on November 6, 1942 the son of Sam and Hallie Mae (Ledbetter) Crabtree. Pete was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed being on the farm, animals, and holding all the babies.

His parents; brothers, Woodrow Crabtree, Coy Crabtree, Roy Crabtree, and Ciscero Crabtree; and sisters, Rachel Watters, Sadie Snyder, and Ruth French precede him in death.

Survivors include his brother, Walter D. Crabtree (Sue) of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Irene Watson (Eddie) of Springhill, Florida, Gloria Mae Spradlin (Darrell) of Somerset, Kentucky, Ruby Eagleton (Junior) of Columbus, Indiana, and Maryetta Lawrence (Ed) of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Williamsburg Nursing Home staff for all the care given to him in his last days.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Mike King officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Thursday at the Funeral Home.
