WILLIAM PAUL HURD

November 3, 1941 — August 2, 2019

William Paul Hurd age 77 of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 2, 2019 at his home.

He was born November 3, 1941 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Marvin Isaac Hurd and Angeline (Hicks) Hurd. William is also preceded in death by a son, Michael Hurd; brothers, Samuel Walker Hurd and Charlie Ben Hurd; a sister, Dorothy Hurd; and half sisters, Ruby Mae Hubbard and Myrtle Frankie Messer.

Surviving family include his wife, Janie (Goodin) Hurd, whom he married on October 11, 1962; sons, Bobby Hurd, Tony William Hurd (companion, Rachel), Nathan Paul Hurd, and Joseph Hurd (wife, Samantha), all of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; a daughter, Rosetta Hurd, also of Parkers Lake; and sisters, Maggie Bryant of Stearns, Mable Irene Goodin (husband, Jonathon) of Flat Rock, and Nora Coleman of Parkers Lake.

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Anthony, Shelia, Tiffany, Brittany, Tony Ray, and Ralston; and 6 great-grandchildren, Ruben, Krystal, Angie, Kylie, Kendal, and Bretlee, that William loved dearly.

William was a member of the Mill Creek Methodist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, root digging, walking the woods, and Farming. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Mill Creek Methodist Church. Burial to follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery with Bro. Dow Goodin, Bro. Ronnie Decker, and Bro. Keith McKim officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday after 6:00 pm at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Mr. Hurd will lie in state at the church on Monday morning after 11:00 am until service time.
