William R. Taylor, age 82 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died June 12, 2026 at his home.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on April 26, 1944 the son of the late Clarence and Gertie (Taylor) Taylor. William had worked as a dryer operator for Kingsford Charcoal and was a member of the Marsh Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Rondle A. Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Clarence Jr. Taylor, and Roy Lee Taylor; and sister, Lois Ann Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Martha (Coffey) Taylor of Whitley City, Kentucky; son, Billy Taylor of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; daughters, Carolyn Morgan (Mike) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Michelle Staley (Jason) of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Miranda Taylor Nelson (John) of Whitley City, Kentucky; brother, Kenneth Taylor of Science Hill, Kentucky; sisters, Vertie Taylor of Whitley City, Kentucky, Betty Head of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Donia Dick of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Donna Vanover of Whitley City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Christopher Morgan (Tiara), Brook Kilby (William D.), Courtney Thomas (Nathan), Isaiah Shawn Staley, Jaden Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, and Brayden Nelson; and great grandchildren, Alivia Morgan, Aiden Morgan, William Michael Kilby, Killian Kilby, Braylee Thomas, and Colson Thomas.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Casada and Bro. Ronnie Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Pigeon Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
