Willie Harold Sammons

Willie Harold Sammons, age 78 years, of Stearns, Kentucky Died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Zenith, Tennessee on August 8, 1941 the son of Willie and Goldie (Hill) Sammons. Harold had worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company, was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church, loved hunting Easter Eggs with his grandchildren and Westerns.

His parents; daughter, Brenda Lee Sammons; brothers, Andrew Sammons, Elmer Sammons, Buster Begley, Sherman Sammons and Leonard Sammons; sisters, Thelma Blevins, Delta Vaught, Minnie and Marie Sammons, Mary Sammons, Louella Sammons, Myrtle Strunk, and Elizabeth Hill; and great grandchild, Sam Perry precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ann (Morgan) Sammons; son, William Edward Sammons (Donna) of Bronston; daughter, Melissa Sammons Perry (Allen) of Stearns; brother, Joe Daugherty (Renee) of Whitley City; sisters, Madie Sammons and Katie Jarrett of West Virginia; grandchildren, Jacob Sammons (Shelbie),  Lisa Perry , Jordan Sammons (Tiffany), and Robert Perry (Courtney); and great grandchildren, Robert “RJ” Perry, Jr., Elliot Perry, Levi Sammons, and Grayson Perry.

Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Bro. David Troxell officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Church.
