WILMA JOYCE TAYLOR

Wilma Joyce Taylor, age 86, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Jean Waddle Care Center of the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 

Born at Co-operative, Kentucky, on October 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Roberts and Leodia (Worley) Roberts Tompkins  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Al” Taylor and two daughters: Darlene Lee Kohler and Tammy Taylor, also two great-grandchildren: Charlie and Taylor.

Surviving family include a daughter, Robbin Moertle (husband Jeff) of Cincinnati, Ohio, two sisters; Jewel Michealis of Peebles, Ohio,  and Norma Schmidt of Georgia.  She has five grandchildren, Vickie (Joe) Espinosa, William (Shelley) Girdler, Brian (Michelle) Girdler, Jimmy (Julie) Girdler, Michelle (Bryan) Powell and eleven great-grandchildren: Christina, Kimberly, Paul, Kelsey, Little Brian, Gracie, 
Ashlee, Haylee, Katie, Brittany and Amber. and six great great grandchildren: Sophie, Nathaniel, Devin, Xavier, Aiden, and Ava.

Ms. Taylor had worked in landscaping and was a member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, swimming and sewing.  She was lovingly known as the neighborhood mom.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Angel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services.
