WOLFORD BRYANT

Wolford Bryant, age 76, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.   

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on July 20, 1939, to the late Jackie and Roxie (Taylor) Bryant.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Lloyd Bryant, Travis Bryant, Willie Bryant, and Marvin Bryant and three sisters: Evelyn Litton, Freida Kidwell, and Mary Bryant.

Surviving family include his wife, Betty (Strunk) Bryant, whom he married September 20, 1958, who lives in Nicholasville, Kentucky, their children: Ricky Bryant of Nicholasville, Joey (and Patricia) Bryant of Lexington, Kelly (and Darla) Bryant of Nicholasville, and Phil (and Mary) Bryant of Nicholasville; their grandchildren: Joseph (and Casey) Bryant, Cynthia Bryant, Marsha Bryant, Georgia Bryant, Richard Bryant, Janey (and Dexter) Padgett, David Bryant and Adam Bryant.  Wolford and Betty have been blessed with 11 great-grandchildren. He has two surviving sisters: Bonnie Dodson of Lexington and Fannie Shepherd of McCreary County.

Wolford was a truck driver for 35 years having worked for The Lehman-Meade Company in Lexington.  He was a simple man who enjoyed coming back to McCreary County to go hunting and fishing.  He liked to tinker with old cars and watch westerns on t.v.  Mostly he took great pleasure in the time he got to spend with his family.

Funeral services:  1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Rufus Hughes officiating

Burial at the Old Pigeon Cemetery, Whitley City, Kentucky

Visitation Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
